University of Michigan Sentiment Report, 13:55 GMT

  • The labour market has been showing improvements in recent months, which should translate to consumer confidence.
  • Although we have seen strong growth in employment, average incomes are still low, which is causing some consumers to be more cautious, hence precious soft results.
  • Final June sentiment index is expected to rise to 82 up from 81.2 in the preliminary reading.
  • Yet, the Conference Board’s Confidence Index rose to its highest level since 2008.
  • Banc De Binary analysts predict that there will be a moderate rise in consumer confidence, indicating a potential upward movement in the USD/JPY.
